TCC 2012 Wrap Up

This year’s conference was held in a former meatpacking factory in the heart of Malmo, Sweden with 250 TIA experts from around the world in attendence to share their valuable insights and experiences with each other.

This year’s conference was held in a former meatpacking factory in the heart of Malmo, Sweden with 250 TIA experts from around the world in attendence to share their valuable insights and experiences with each other.

The conference’s theme was “MOVE AHEAD” – everyday TIA is moving ahead with its solution, partners and strategy to deliver optimal business value to our customers and fulfill the vision of enabling insurers to execute efficiently on their strategies to stay ahead in the market. Throughout the conference we showed that with TIA, it’s not how fast you move, but how well you move fast that is important.

Day 1 focused on presenting TIA’s future strategic outlook from CEO Liselotte Munk who talked about TIA’s unique insight, expertise and commitment which help make TIA a world class insurance solution provider and help insurers get closer to their customers.

Vice President for R&D, Peter Braad Olesen presented TIA’s 2020 Product Vision – which takes into account several mega trends in the insurance industry which will shape future product direction: new rules of customer engagement, a new competitive landscape, insurance will be a commodity, more connected and smarter technology, and Big Data is here.

CELENT’s Catherine Stagg-Macey provided insight into what the insurance industry might look like in 2022 and how various technological trends will significantly affect insurers around the world. Three trends that may shape consumer behaviour: Social Media, Urbanization and Mobile technology.

TIA’s CCO Christoffer Spangenberg hosted a Speed Predictions session with a panel of experts responding to hypothetical situations in the insurance industry – with the audience also able to provide their opinion.

 
Here are some examples of the 10 predictions that were debated:

    • Social media will be a dominant sales channel for personal lines insurance by the end of 2015
    • 75% of all insurance companies in Europe will adopt cloud for core insurance applications before 2020
    • Small insurance companies cannot survive the challenges triggered by new technologies and regulations
    • Technology standardization and integration will allow insurers to outsource core back-office functions significantly more than today
