Excellent ideas emerge from InsurTech Hackathon

This weekend, Copenhagen FinTech held its first InsurTech Hackathon and TIA were there as mentors, judges and sponsors. 40 designers, developers and business people divided into 14 teams to solve distinct challenges in the insurance industry, including reducing onboarding time, automation and on-demand insurance.

The first prize of DKK 25,000 and admittance to Copenhagen FinTech Lab’s Pre-Accelerator Program was awarded to Safeli. A diverse team of wide-ranging competencies, they pitched a solution that provides state-of-the-art segmentation to serve customers quickly with the insurance products they need when they need them. Three other teams were also invited to join the Pre-Accelerator program.

Anders Skovlykke Knudsen, Product Manager at TIA, served as a mentor at the hackathon. “I was impressed by the level of talent and commitment people brought to the hackathon,” he said. “There were a lot of good ideas, and I had a great time talking to so many smart people. I was also impressed by how good people were at pitching – that’s a skill we could all improve on.”
